Overview of Initiative

The Middle East Venture Capital Fund is being raised to establish and make investments primarily in export-oriented, high-growth businesses originating in (or related to) the West Bank in Palestine.

The Fund will invest in companies in the start-up stage (in some cases initiating projects & building teams), as well as in existing companies. The Fund expects to focus primarily on companies in the business services, software, and communications fields that develop products and services aimed mainly at export markets, though the Fund will consider investments in other export-oriented businesses.

The YPO Israel/Palestine Venture Capital Fund is being formed as a collaboration of Israel and Palestine-based YPO members.

Why We Are Doing It

The Sager Family Foundation’s involvement comes from its desire to help promote entrepreneurial activity in Palestine, to foster cooperative ventures between Israelis and Palestinians, and to contribute towards improving the economic and social condition of the Palestinian people.

How We Measure Success

By enabling Palestinian entrepreneurs to build export-oriented, high-growth businesses in the West Bank, the Middle East Venture Capital Fund will contribute to economic prosperity and the conditions for peace in the Middle East.

How well the portfolio companies perform and the economic benefits these companies create for the Palestinian people are the key measures of success of this initiative.
